Your safe travel is our absolute focus and contacting our 24 hour medical assistance service prior to seeking treatment allows us to ensure that you get the best possible medical treatment in appropriate medical facilities. It also means that you are less likely to pay expenses out-of-pocket.

International Medical Group Limited (IMG) are our appointed 24/7 medical assistance and claims management partner and the medical assistance service operates under the medical supervision of an in-house team of highly experienced doctors and nurses who oversee all medical cases and may be contacted by dialling +44 (0) 1444 465 579 or emailing 247assistance@imglobal.com.

If you do not have a condition which requires the emergency services but you become unwell, or sustain an injury whilst abroad which is likely to result in more than £500 of expenses, you must call IMG, our 24/7 medical assistance team, on +44 (0) 1444 465 579 so that they can help you find appropriate treatment locally.

Whilst the actual medical care you receive is in the hands of the local doctors treating you, IMG can obtain the medical information they need from them to establish what is wrong, as well as their treatment and discharge plans. IMG can support you in the event you are admitted to a facility that may not be suitable for your clinical needs or where there are concerns over practice.

IMG will then advise on, and can put in place, suitable repatriation plans to get you home as soon as it is medically safe to do so. IMG will liaise with the treating doctor to get a fit to fly certificate when needed, and with aero-medical experts who will advise on both the timing and method of repatriation that is best suited to the individual needs of your recovery.

In addition to the above, You must also contact the 24 hour assistance service if you have to return home early due to your injury or illness, so that they can assist with any travel arrangements where appropriate and authorise the expenses for you to return home.

When you contact IMG, please have the following information ready so that your case can be dealt with swiftly and efficiently:

• Your contact phone number abroad.
• our policy number and the date you purchased the policy as shown on your policy schedule.

Please note that your travel insurance policy is not a private medical insurance and if you don’t contact IMG, we may not cover your medical expenses.
