Journy provides a variety of insurance policies tailored to the needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups of travellers between the ages of 18 and 75 for UK and Europe, and 65 if you are travelling outside of Europe, with options available for customers who have pre-existing medical conditions.

We cover countries throughout the world and have three cover levels to choose from (Silver, Gold and Platinum) and numerous options that can be added to your policy.

Optional Cover

In addition to the above, we offer optional cover for: Winter Sports and Cruise.

To keep our prices low, we don't bloat your policy with cover that most people don't need. However, we do offer a range of options for those that do want some specific types of cover including Winter Sports Cover.

Activities

Winter holidays your thing? Love the snowy mountains and winter sports adventures? This is the policy for you. Head off to the slopes knowing that cover is in place for the extra risks that come with going on winter destination holidays.

Winter sports can be covered for the duration of any booked single trips; and for a maximum of 35 days in total during the 12 month period of an annual multi trip policy. Anyone under the age of 76 (66 for worldwide travel) can be covered for winter sports activities.

  • Covid 19 cover as standard
  • Cancellation of your booked trip – immediate protection as soon as you buy a single trip policy or as soon as your annual multi trip policy starts.
  • Returning home early from your booked trip
  • Emergency medical expenses whilst abroad
  • Loss, theft of or damage to baggage items, money and passports
  • Travel delay and missed departure
  • Personal liability and legal expenses

In addition to the standard benefits covered by your single trip or annual multi trip policy, the winter sports extension includes cover for:

  • Emergency medical expenses for injuries sustained whilst participating in winter sports activities
  • Accidental loss, theft of or damaged to your own or hired winter sports equipment.
  • Ski equipment hire if your own equipment is delayed on the outward journey or lost, stolen or damaged during the trip.
  • Loss or theft of your ski pass
  • Unused ski pack (ski school fees, equipment hire, lift passes) due to accident or illness
  • Piste closure and avalanche/landslide delays

Winter sports activities are defined as:

Big foot skiing, dry slope skiing, glacier skiing/walking, husky dog sledding (organised, non-competitive and with an experienced local driver), ice go karting* (within organisers guidelines), ice skating (rink), ski biking, ski boarding, langlauf, cross country skiing, mono skiing, Nordic skiing, skiing on-piste**, skiing off-piste with a guide**, sledging/tobogganing on snow, sleigh riding as a passenger (pulled by horse or reindeer)*, snow-boarding on-piste**, snow-boarding off-piste with a guide**, snowmobiling (skidoo)*, snow shoe walking, ski – touring, telemarking, winter walking (using crampons and ice picks only).

*Cover under the personal accident and personal liability sections is excluded when participating in these activities.

**A piste is a recognised and marked ski run within the resort boundaries.

Cruise Travel Insurance

Explore the world by sea with fuss free travel by ship. Head off on the seven seas knowing that cover is in place for the extra risks that come with going on a cruise.

Cruises can be covered for the duration of any booked single trips; and for any number of trips that are covered under the terms of an annual multi trip policy. Anyone under the age of 76 (66 for worldwide travel) can be covered for a cruise trip.

  • Unused excursions due to illness
  • Cabin confinement due to illness
  • Missed port departure – expenses to get you to the next port if you miss embarkation at the initial departure port
  • Itinerary change – benefit for each port missed due to adverse weather or a timetable change
  • Cruise interruption – expenses to allow you to rejoin the cruise in the event you are disembarked due to illness
